Copy Function to Prepare New Hire Ind. Page
PlannedSo let's say an employee leaves. When that role is filled by a new employee, chances are they will have the same Basic Roles & Basic Role Tasks (at minimum, but other info will probably mirror as well). So it has been suggested to replace that individual's info with the info of the new hire so you don't have to recreate BR's & BRT's. However, doing this will tie the new hire's name to everything that had been done by the other individual--including performance measures. The new hire would also be able to look at the individual's old performance reviews in the system.
Obviously that will pose a problem--especially since performance info is still kept on file for a terminated employee, so if you utilize COL for reviews, deleting dialogs and such when replacing an individual page with a new hire's info will alter that information...and it would combine the performance info for 2 different employees into one profile.
So it would be nice if there was a function to automatically copy items (basic roles, metrics, tasks, projects, etc.--maybe have the ability to choose) owned by the terminated employee, over to the new hire's page...without compromising the terminated employee's information.
This function would eliminate a lot of the manual work to prepare the individual page for new hires.

Using a template (or another individual) to set up a new individual's basic role, basic role tasks, accountability, and supervisory scope is something we are planning to include in the next major release (5.0).
