Updating information of a linked item

In some cases it would be helpful if the tracking, phase and status of a linked item would automatically update in all occurrences, regardless of which page the edits are made on. Although I do understand why the system is set up so this information does not automatically update in all linked occurrences, it would be nice to have the option to select this type of syncing for a linked project.
