Resource Utilization Report

Regarding the Orgs and Depts:  Create a Corporate Department under your Organization.  Then add the departments under corporate as "children" of Corporate.  The reason we  add “children” of departments (and Corporate specifically) is for the “roll ups” on the resource utilization chart.  For example, if Corporate is the “parent”, and IT reports to Corporate, and Marketing reports to Corporate (both set as “children” of Corporate), then when you open the resource report and click corporate and click show subs, the page refreshes and you can see all the tasks that “roll up” under corporate from Corporate, Marketing and IT.  Also, if IT has several departments that report to it, you can click on IT, then click show subs, then click refresh, and all the tasks people are working on who are part of IT and IT sub departments will show on the list.  Or you can just click the dept or org and click refresh and the report will show just that department.
