Related Links - Quick Way to Access
If your files are in a folder that is shared through http, the user should use the web browser to browse for the file instead of using the computer or network browser. If the folders on the server are set up to be visible, the user should be able to go to http://servername/folder in their web browser and click down to the file location, then right click the file link, copy the link location, and paste it into the link field. Then, they don't have to copy the folder and file names separately and they don't have to manually edit the link to point to remove the file:/// or point it to the right server--the link is copied in its entirety in one step.
For example, browsing the http://www.sypher.com/Testing/ site (no longer available)... This is what a folder set up with web sharing can look like, even if it is just available on the internal network. Using a bookmark to open up the root browsing location of a server and copying the exact link is even simpler than using the old Browse button to browse the local network to copy a link that you need to manually change after the copy.
