Importing Your 3.2 Database
We host our own Connections Online 3.2 server at our location and we are ready to upgrade to Connections Online 4.0. Which database do you need me to send to you, and how should I send it?
The ConnectionsMaster database is just a directory of Connections databases that you have. In its Databases table, you can find a list of the Connections Online databases that are available to your users when they log in.
The Connections database is the first database created to store the information available to the users. Many times, though, this database stays blank because, immediately after installation, another database is imported from our ASP/online version of the application. If this is the case, you should look for a database that is not called ConnectionsMaster or Connections, but is owned by the ConnectionsUser SQL login.
To be sure of which database you need, you can look in the Databases table in the ConnectionsMaster database and view those records. The description field of the record will match the text in the drop-down list that your users pick when they log in. The name field of the record will match the database name of the one you need.
Back the database up in SQL Enterprise Manager, compress the backup file to a .ZIP file, and e-mail the file to me. You may use encryption on the ZIP file if you would like. Bryan40066.4896064815
