How to use the news forum

This forum is tied to the News area on the main Connections Online web site.  Any posts in this forum that are NOT marked as Announcements or Sticky will show up as news items on the main site.

All users may view posts in this forum, but only administrators may post new topics here.  After a topic is posted, other registered users may reply to the topic, but their replies will only show up in this forum and not in the main news area.

Any bolding, large fonts, colors, etc. used in the announcement topic posts will be copied to the main news area as-is, so be careful.  Remember that the background on the main site is a violet blue color and that the default font is white.  If you don't set the font color here, it will show up black in the forum and white on the main site.  I would recommend NOT copying from Word or another external program other than a plain text editor, since the formatting copied in may not look right on the main site.  Instead, write the text on this site and copy it out to Word if needed, or try this:

• Copy the text into a plain text editor (like Notepad in Windows)
• Copy the text from the text editor into the posting form on this site.
• Change the font size where needed.  1 through 4 work well.

Once you've posted a new topic, make sure it looks good on the News site.  If it doesn't, come back here and edit the post.  Since there is no way to edit the date the item was posted, if you would like to have it show a different date, PM or e-mail me.
