All of the Connections Online sites (4.1, 4.0, & Beta) will be undergoing maintenance this weekend to address issues with the version switching links and with linking from the Outlook, MS Project, and Excel add-ins. The sites will remain operational during most of the weekend but may be occasionally unavailable for a few minutes at a time. The maintenance may require users to re-enter their passwords the next time they log in. It may also require 4.1 users to choose to switch to 4.1 once again from the 4.0 site.
Site administrators should prepare for questions about the "Forgot Your Password?" feature that emails temporary passwords to users on request. For users to receive the temporary passwords, they must have a valid email address set and your email servers must allow messages from email@example.com. If someone is not receiving the email when requesting a temporary password, make sure their email address is set correctly on the site admin page. This is a separate field from their user name. Also remember that for the temporary password links to work, they must be used within one hour of the request.
If a user goes directly to https://col.connectionsonline.net, they will not notice a difference, other than possibly needing to log in again even though they were using the Remember Me feature.
If the user goes directly to https://my.connectionsonline.net, they will see a notice bar at the top of the page that allows them to instead go to the 4.1 site. Otherwise, they can log in to the 4.0 site there.
If the user follows a link from one of the add-ins (the Outlook Add-in, for example), they will be directed to the 4.0 site until they go there and choose to switch to using 4.1. Once they switch, the links from the add-ins will then redirect to the 4.1 site.
