Performance Periods define the timeframes used to track and evaluate progress toward organizational goals. These periods serve as the foundation for performance management across the organization, departments, and individuals.
Creating a Performance Period
- You will need to have permission to edit the organization
- Navigate to Organization Settings on the ︙ action menu in the organization header
- Find the Performance Periods tab
-
Use the
button to bring up the form to add a new Performance Period
- Select a start date for the new period, and make any necessary changes to other fields if desired
⚠️ Performance periods cannot overlap. Each period ends when the next one begins.
Thresholds
Each performance period includes three thresholds:
- Minimum: This is the lowest acceptable level of performance. Hitting this means the goal was partially met, but improvement is needed.
- Meets: This represents the target or expected level of performance. Achieving this means the goal was successfully met.
- Exceeds: This is the stretch goal—performance at this level goes above and beyond expectations.
These thresholds are applied to metrics and visualized in dashboards and reports, helping teams and individuals quickly understand how they’re tracking. They’re also used in Performance Periods to evaluate progress across commitments, goals, and other responsibilities.
