Individual Connection

The Individual Connection is your personal workspace in Connections Online. It brings together everything related to your responsibilities, performance, development, and day‑to‑day work. This page helps you understand:

• What work needs your attention today
• What’s coming up next
• How your metrics, tasks, and projects are performing
• Your commitments and goals for the performance period
• Activity happening on items you’re connected to
• The performance of your direct reports (if applicable)

It is the best place to start your day and the central hub for managing your work.

1. Dashboard Overview

At the top of the Individual Connection is your Dashboard, which summarizes your work and performance at a glance. Each module is clickable and takes you to the corresponding tab or detailed view.

1.1 PM Charts (Performance Overview)

These charts summarize the state of all items you are associated with for the current performance period:

• Metrics by threshold status
  • Exceeds
  • Meets
  • Minimum
  • Below Minimum
• Projects (active vs. completed)
• Individual dialogs
• Follow‑up tasks
• Commitments & goals completed

These charts give you a quick sense of how you’re performing and where attention may be needed.

1.2 Commitments & Goals

Shows your commitments and goals from dialogs and role expectations.

• Displays progress toward goals
• Shows commitments due or completed this performance period
• Clicking opens the Commitments & Goals section of the Dashboard

This area helps you stay aligned with expectations and development priorities.

2. Schedule Modules (Current, Upcoming, Completed)

These modules function as your personal schedule, showing what needs attention now, what’s coming up, and what you’ve completed.

2.1 Current Work

Shows everything that needs your attention today or is already in progress.

Includes:

• Projects and tasks with an actual start date of today or earlier
• The next dialog for your organization, department(s), projects, yourself, and your direct reports
• Events from announcements that occur today

Clicking opens the full list of current work.

2.2 Upcoming Work

Shows the next items coming due, in chronological order.

• Displays the next 6 items
• Clicking opens the full list
• Sorted by nearest due date

2.3 Completed Work

Shows recently completed items:

• Projects
• Tasks
• Dialogs

Clicking opens the full list of completed work.

3. Recent Activity

The Recent Activity module shows updates on anything you are connected to, including:

• Tasks you own
• Tasks where you are a co‑owner
• Projects where you are a team member
• Metrics you own
• Dialogs you participate in

Examples of activity include:

• Someone completes a task you own
• A metric value is updated
• A dialog is created or updated
• A project schedule changes

This module appears on many pages across the app, but here it is filtered to your work.

4. Direct Reports (If Applicable)

If you supervise others, this section summarizes your direct reports’ performance.

You can:

• View their metrics, tasks, dialogs, and commitments
• Click their name to open their Individual Connection
• Prepare for dialogs and track team progress

If you do not supervise anyone, this module will not appear.

5. Tabs for More Detail

Below the dashboard modules are tabs that give you deeper access to the information summarized above.

5.1 Basic Role

Shows your role expectations:

• Key Result Areas
• Performance indicators
• Supervisory scope
• Accountability statements

These are used during your Individual Dialogs and help guide your development.

5.2 Metrics

Lists all metrics you own, including:

• Individual metrics
• Connected metrics
• Project metrics

From here you can:

• Update metric values
• Review thresholds
• View trends and history

5.3 Projects

Lists all projects where you are a team member.

You can:

• View project details
• Access project metrics, tasks, and dialogs
• Review your responsibilities within each project

5.4 Tasks

Shows all tasks assigned to you, regardless of where they originate.

You can:

• Update task status
• View due dates
• See related project or dialog context

5.5 Individual Dialogs

Shows all dialogs you participate in:

• Past dialogs
• Upcoming dialogs
• Follow‑up tasks

This is where you prepare for and review your dialog conversations.
