Users Roundtable – June 17-18, 2010 Dinner at Chin Chins was a great way to start out the Roundtable…
Lots of networking and sharing went on throughout the session… See pictures of the Roundtable: http://www.flickr.com/photos/btsiders/sets/72157624212314839 /
A highlight of the Roundtable was the case study presentation by Nancy Richardson, from Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union on how they transformed their organization adopting the Connections philosophy and framework… Visit our Connections Online Channel on YouTube to view their story. www.youtube.com/user/connectionsonline4
Feedback from our Roundtable Participants to make COL more valuable – and the steps being taken… · COL Content: There is a lot of information available for Users but it needs to be organized more logically o We will be reorganizing our website and other resources so that information is more logically presented (emphasis will be on the philosophy and customer issues as well as application function) · Employee Orientation: Create three sets of process steps with information/knowledge that each group would need to best assimilate a new user to COL (executive, manager and staff) o We will be asking Users for more guidance in this area, but have already started to put a framework in place for employee orientation · Educational Webinars – do them every 2 months instead of every month (suggested topics: project management, metrics – individual, department and project, ideas on what to measure for each of these areas) o We will establish a calendar of educational webinars with content reflecting suggested topics · Community – create some kind of community where people can “meet” o We will be creating a General COL User Linked In Community – more to come on this · On-Line Help, searchable through the application (so Users can access it from their own user interface) o The On-Line Help Wiki has been selected and we are working on the content structure and data that will be available to all users · Executive Training webinar done quarterly o This webinar will emphasize the COL philosophy and the Executive’s role in leveraging COL for easier assimilation to the organization · 10 minute introduction on COL philosophy o Jim is working on this to be released through our Connections Channel www.youtube.com/user/connectionsonline4 · Jim’s consulting “binder” as an available resource o We are looking into this – and will probably use a wiki in conjunction with webinars or videos to deliver this information

4.0 Tips of the Month New Report: We have created a simple report similar to the report from Version 3.2 for the Organization or Department Connections that allows people to export the Metric or Project list modules to either Excel or Word (some people want these modules in an MS Office format when preparing the Board package.) This does not replace any reports on the report module. Follow these instructions to use this report – On your Organization or Department Tab, on the related link module, create a related link, title the link Org Dept Simple Report. In the link, copy and paste this link: https://report.connectionsonline.net/Org3.2.aspx?sid=#SESSIO N#&s=#SITE#
Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]: We receive calls regarding common measures for different department/functions when people are creating their department scorecards. This is a great resource to see general KPIs for many common functions like marketing, IT, and HR. There are also some general banking metrics. Here is the website: http://www.smartkpis.com/ – when you visit the website, if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a listing of both functional areas as well as industries. Just register to see the many KPIs that have been listed. I’m sure there are some that would fit your scorecard. The KPI describes how the metric is calculated – which could be copied to the metric description field in Connections.
