Jim Cardwell’s Educational Webinar: How to Connect Employees to Improve Metric Results This month we will discuss how to identify high-impact organization metrics, align them with your departments, and bring them to life through employee engagement. We will share some tactics for helping team members learn the fundamentals behind each metric. We will also discuss how to use metrics in dialogs. Click here to register for Jim’s webinar. Connections Online Becomes LinkedIn ¯ Connections Online now has a LinkedIn User Group. During the 2010 Users Roundtable, customers said they would like to participate in a Connections Online “community.” Rather than starting a unique blog, or using Facebook, we wanted to take advantage of the most logical business internet space that most of our users belong to – LinkedIn. It’s an easy-to-use, business approved social networking tool that’s free and most business professionals are already members. Why Join? Using the Connections Online Group, you can join the community and instantly connect to other COL users. This is a terrific medium to get linked to the other COL Credit Unions to ask, or respond to, topics related to software, the process, and other management issues that you would like other opinions or experience on. The Connections Online team will also use this community to post new material such as articles and helpful tips to making life “easier.” We hope you will join us and participate in the dialogs there. Here are the instructions on joining our group: Currently a Member of LinkedIn · Visit www.linkedin.com · Select “Join Group” · Edit and confirm your contact preferences Not a Current LinkedIn Member · Join LinkedIn at no cost: www.linkedin.com · Select Join Today from the top navigation bar · Confirm your email, you’re now a LinkedIn member · To join our group, follow the next step of instructions provided at the site COL IQ – Metric Roll-ups and MS Project Connector Metric Roll-ups and Metric Linking as well as MS Project Connector are in production. This Forum has our On-Line Help questions and answers easily accessible for all users. Here is the link: www.connectionsonline.net/forum . At the Forum, you will see a list of accessible topics – Connections Online 4.0 has the most immediate applicability for “On-Line Help.” You can view any of the posts and specific topic content. You can also use the search feature at the top of the page. To get new announcements of posts for a specific topic, you can easily set up a user name and password. Once this is set up, you will find a link that says “watch this forum for new posts.” If you have set yourself up as a user in the Forum, you will be notified of any new posts by email. Under the COL 4.0 Support section, you will find User Support and FAQ, also Product Updates and the Training Library. Our Training Library contains links to helpful documents and videos for COL 4.0 support. In the News and Events section, you can click on event announcements, newsletters, articles, etc. When browsing the list of items available in any section be sure to note that there may be several pages of items. There is a “next page” choice in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Moving Metrics with Arrows You can select several metrics and move all with one click of the arrow. When moving a sub number to line up under a number above or below, you will need to move to the left first to move up or down under another whole number. You can then move back to the right when you have it lined up where you want. Example: You want to move 1.7 and 1.8 down to 3.8 and 3.9. Both are the last ones in the number 1 section. You can’t move them down, without first moving them to the left. You can select both and move both one move to the left with the left arrow. Temporarily they became 2 and 3. Then you can again select both and move down till they are at the bottom of the 3 section, temporarily becoming 4 and 5. Then you can select both and move to the right and they become 3.8 and 3.9 at the bottom of the 3 section.
