Metric Roll-Ups and Metric Linking, as well as MS Project Connector are available.
The Outlook Connector is ready for beta testing. If you are interested in beta testing, please contact Karla. This connector will sync all tasks (project, dialog follow-up, basic role and personal tasks) to your Outlook task list as well as sync Outlook calendar with dialog meeting dates and project end dates. You are able to easily mark tasks off in Outlook as completed, add comments, etc.
If you have not already subscribed to COL IQ, please contact Karla Norwood at 800-395-1410 or [email protected]
4.0 Tips of the Month
When deleting tasks, be sure to first delete the subtasks, then delete the parent task. i.e. Parent task is 1.0, sub-task 1.1 and 1.2. Delete sub-task 1.1 and 1.2 before deleting parent task 1.0. If you delete the parent task and the subtasks were not deleted previously, they will show up on the task list after it, which takes on the same number as the task deleted, giving you subtasks with the same number. Example: Deleted parent task 9, but forgot to delete its subtasks of 9.1 and 9.2. Task 10 (which has subtasks 10.1 and 10.2) becomes task 9 and its subtasks become 9.1 and 9.2. You now have two subtasks called 9.1 and two called 9.2.
When you click the archive symbol on the archive module on the Site Admin page, it will take a few minutes to do the archiving before you will see the archived metric or projects on the site admin archive module. Also, once the archiving process has completed, when you go to the specific Organization or Department tab and select the archive symbol, you will see the newly archived metrics and projects. The list of metrics and projects will not necessarily appear as they do on the list on the main tab – they will be alphabetical. However, you can use Control F (or the search function in Internet Explorer or Firefox) and type in the name of the metric or project and it will take you to that item and you can open it from the archive window.
Once the metric or project has been archived, you can edit/delete the metric/project on the current main page (as the original is now archived). When archiving, the task does not move to the archived list, it is copied to the archived list. It can then be deleted from the original location if you wish. Keep in mind the archived item cannot be edited in any way, brought back to an active task or deleted.
