Connections Online Users Roundtable
Starts with a Kick-Off Dinner on Wednesday evening, June 20th.
We are excited to announce that this year's Users Roundtable will be held in Las Vegas at The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. We will hold a block of rooms for the event. The rooms will be $80 per night plus taxes (this includes the $20 per day resort fee).
We hope you will be able to join us. Please make your reservation today with Linda Schmidt [email protected] or 800-395-1410.
We will be using our time at the Connections Online Users Roundtable getting your feedback on what you need, hearing best practice presentations, and introducing special guest speakers.
We will introduce you to new functionality on Version 4.1, as well as a special session for learning about our MS Project and Outlook Connectors.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
COL Web Services
This opens up the user interface for Connections Online to be anything you can imagine (and develop). This could mean new reports, dashboards, quick entry screens, or even a full-featured replacement for the default Connections Online user interface.
Please contact us if you want to try the latest version of the Outlook Connector. Please email [email protected] or call 1-800-395-1410
Connections Online Releases Version 4.1
We hosted a webinar showing off our new version. You are welcome to watch it and even give the beta version a try – here is the link to the document and recording. http://link.connectionsonline.net/COLV4.1
Tips of the Month
Version 4.1 Reports
The issue with printing blank pages has been resolved. The new reports are up and working properly.
Related Links on Local Servers
The web-friendly options for file storage include: a local web server (possibly using SharePoint or another file management system), a local server running a shared Web Folder, or a hosted file storage solution like Dropbox, box.net, Amazon S3, Google Docs, etc. Many of the online file storage companies are former SAS70 and now SSAE 16 compliant systems and use the latest AES encryption, so they are in most cases just as secure as local file storage.
Our experience with IT departments trying to set up local web-friendly file storage has led us to highly recommend the online storage options. It *is* possible to use any of those online options with Connections Online today, but we have plans to simplify the integration in the future.
While we do not recommend local files any longer, you can still use Internet Explorer to use local file links, but you will have to lower the security settings to do so:
Once this is set, Internet Explorer should open local files, at least for now.
