Notifications help you stay informed about updates to your work, teams, projects, and direct reports. You control how each type of notification is delivered, allowing you to balance awareness with interruption‑free focus.
Notification Delivery Options
Each notification type can be delivered in up to three ways:
- Notify Me – Shows notifications in the Notifications panel (bell icon in the app header).
- In‑app Pop‑up – Displays a toast pop‑up inside the app when the event occurs.
- Email – Sends notification emails based on your selected delivery mode.
If Email is enabled, you can choose one of two delivery modes:
- Immediate – Sends timely updates (batched up to one email every ~2 minutes).
- Digest – Sends a summary email, typically once each morning, covering recent activity.
Where to Find Notifications
Use the bell icon in the app header to open your Notifications panel.
In the panel, you can:
- View recent notifications
- Open a notification to jump to related content
- Mark individual notifications as read
- Mark all notifications as read
- Open Notification Preferences
Notification Preferences
Notification preferences are managed per notification type. For each type, you can choose:
- Notify Me
- In‑app Pop‑up
- Email Delivery Mode (Immediate or Digest, when Email is enabled)
(Insert notification preferences screenshot)
Important Behavior Rules
- Notify Me controls everything else. If Notify Me is turned off for a type, Pop‑up and Email are automatically turned off.
- Pop‑up and Email require Notify Me. They cannot be enabled independently.
- Email Delivery Mode requires Email. Immediate/Digest options appear only when Email is on.
- Restore Defaults resets all notification types to their original settings.
- Save Changes applies your updates.
Default Notification Preferences
Connections Online includes several default notification categories. These determine how updates are delivered unless you customize them.
Examples & Tips
- If you’re added to a project team, you’ll see the update in Notify Me, and you can optionally receive a pop‑up or email depending on your settings.
- Use Immediate for urgent or high‑impact updates that require fast awareness.
- Use Digest for high‑volume categories to reduce email noise.
- Keep In‑app Pop‑up enabled only for items that truly need real‑time attention.
